 GOSHEN TEAM INFORMATION:
Education Team Focus: To determine materials needed to meet educational needs for Sunday School, Missions night and Choir; to enlist teachers, to coordinate all instructional activities; to evaluate and recommend changes; to plan outreach; to promote fellowship; to attend training that increases knowledge and understanding of materials, methods, cultural attitudes, developmental stages, etc.
Benevolence Ministry Team Focus: To receive requests from persons needing help with food, financial assistance, etc. To gather information relative to family's situation. To followup with family. To gather information about community resources. To establish and maintain a food pantry. To encourage church family to participate in this outreach.
Food Pantry Needs May Include:
Milestones Team Focus: To assist in aspects of worship by preparing needed elements. To select ushers for accommodating the needs of guests during worship service. To encourage participation of the church body in fellowship. To greet those who worship and attend Sunday School. To direct persons to places for activity (auditorium, classroom, restrooms, nursery.) To identify areas of interest or gifts. Church Property Team: To exercise good stewardship in the maintenance of the owned property of the church. To attend to scheduled and unplanned maintenance on the church van. To keep the grounds and the buildings in good order. To plan the growth of the physical plant of the church.
The Church has accepted our architect's proposal for a Master Site Plan that balances our needs for a greater capacity in worship, fellowship, education and parking. The proposal is long-term and visionary: its completion depends on our vision of the Lord's will for our ministry here. The team will pray about this program and solicits the prayers of the whole Church. When they are confident that the Lord has revealed how we should proceed with planned growth, they will present it to the Church in Conference for a vote of approval. Be in prayer that the Team will discern God's will in this and that the church will move forward in faith and obedience when His will is clear. Church Contact Team: To coordinate a program of outreach and inreach ministries. To reach guests in person, by telephone, or by letter to thank them for coming and to offer them information about the church. To show support for members and friends in times of joy or sorrow through visits, flowers, calls, and cards. To canvass our neighborhood with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Administrative Ministry Team Focus: To coordinate and review church ministry teams. To interface with Teams. To prepare the Church budget. To gather information of financial needs and encourage the Church body to reach the goals that have been set. To review the Church's vision and update or revise it as needed. To record necessary information. To support the Pastor and church staff. OTHER GOSHEN ADULT OPPORTUNITIES: Special thanks to Brotherhood for the expanded Pavilion area. Can't wait to use it for Church-family events. Women on Mission continue to make afghans and other crocheted items for distribution to needy children through Samaritan's Purse. The Sunday Night Heavy-Duty Bible Study will involve your creative imagination.
